We are a non-denominational church, focused on providing an environment where you can connect with God.
MISSION STATEMENT: We are a community of believers whose purpose is to share the gospel with people who do not know Jesus, and lead them to becoming believing, devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
VISION: Our purpose is to be a community devoted to loving God, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Our passion is to see people living in the fullness of life as presented in scripture, and to empower these people to make a lasting difference in the world, through Jesus Christ.
BIBLICAL MODEL: Acts 2:41-47 ( New King James Version)
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
History of TCAM
Jason and Cheryl Parr served on staff at The Church At Covington for over seven years before the Lord called them to begin a new church in Monticello. This began a series of life changing events that would lead them into a walk of faith. There first steps were to a cabin in the North Georgia Mountains where they locked themselves into a time of prayer and listening to God for two days. When God spoke, they wrote everything down and The Church at Monticello was born.
They began Sunday morning services December 9th, 2007, after over two years of prayer and preparation. They have lived in the town of Monticello for thirty years. Since the official launch of the church, they have held a number of community outreach events that have had a lasting impact on the community. The Jasper County Food Bank and "The Thrift Store", a community impact ministry.
Here at The Church of Monticello, we are focused on growing God's kingdom and not our own. It is our passion to join together with local churches, to pool our resources and God-given talents, in order to reach the lost and broken people in our community and to lead them into a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We simply want to make a lasting difference in our community and the world through Jesus.
